So we were newbies to the "Orange County Fair" which is supposed to be more fun and cleaner than the rest. But to me....a fair is a fair. Rides that look like they'll fly off at any given moment, (Remember that Simpson's episode?).Lots of tired, smelly, cute, bored animals in cramped quarters. Unfashionably and overweight visitors waddling through yelling at their kids? (You know what I mean. Big elastic shorts with matching shirt, permed fried hair with visor, white cellulite legs with running shoes....and you know they don't run while gulping a 32 oz. coke in their hand. You were thinking that...don't lie.) Carny's with mirrored sunglasses, missing teeth, looking like ex-convicts, but oh.....tried to make them look as normal as they could with matching t-shirts this time. And of course overpriced, greasy, fried food.
And I mean everything is fried. What's a vegetarian to do? I suggest ....don't eat.
They had Fried Fish-N-Chips, Fried zucchini,Fried Burgers, Pork Butt (I kid you not, I don't know what that was) and even fried Frogs Legs. When you pick up a fried zucchini to eat which is a mile long, your hand will soak up all the grease. Yes, it is disgusting. So on the way home we stopped off at CPK for some normal food. Salads never looked so good.
I love the pics of the kids on the rides and Jared either looks scared or bored. He's at the teenager stage where everything is so boring. " Do I have to go on that death defying ride?" Tessa on the other hand wants to go on as many things as she can, even if she does have to go by herself.
I wish I could of gotten a better pic of the guys on the stilts with the beautiful painted faces and colorful clothes, but they were going too fast.
So there. We did the fair and all in all we had fun....but that's a "gosh, we did that last year, we don't need to ever go again" thing.
